A russian missile hit Transcarpathia for the first time since the beginning of a full scale Russian war against Ukraine. The missile hit a railway substation in the village of Volovets in the Carpathians.

More than two and a half thousand IDPs moved to Volovets because of the war. On Monday evening the sound of explosions reminded them of the war again. The locals have heard and felt it for the first time. Eyewitnesses say that the missile hit a minute after the air raid alarm turned off.

Despite a lot of debris and broken windows, there were no casualties or injuries. However, 57 houses in Volovets were left without gas supply.

On May 3rd, the Russian army launched a massive missile attack on Ukrainian cities. Many of the missiles hit their targets, causing significant damage to the railway and other infrastructure.
