Ivankiv, Kyiv region
In the early days of the war, a russian bomb destroyed a Newfoundland nursery in Ivankiv village of the Kyiv region. But people and dogs (9 adults and 7 puppies) miraculously survived.
Yana Nifontova, the owner of the dogs, lived with the animals for a month and a half without electricity, heat or water supply. She collected potato peelings around the village to feed the dogs. When there was nothing to feed even the puppies, the woman began to look for a way for the puppies to pass away quickly and without pain. Luckily, people in the village found out about it and took the puppies home. They rescued the dogs. After the liberation of Ivankiv, everyone was successfully evacuated.
