Holocaust survivor 91-years-old Vanda Obiedkova dies in Mariupol basement

91-year-old Vanda Obiedkova, who survived the Holocaust, died in one of the basements of Mariupol. This was announced by the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum on Twitter: «At the age of 10, Vanda Semenivna Obiedkova survived the German occupation, hiding in a basement in Mariupol. 81 years later, she died in a basement in the same city, hiding from russian troops.

The pensioner’s life ended up on April 4. For the last few weeks, she has been unable to stand up. After the death of her mother her daughter Larysa and her husband, risking their lives, buried a woman in the park under shelling. Later, the family managed to evacuate from Mariupol and now they are in a safe place.
