The ongoing full-scale armed attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine has resulted in serious and widespread harm to the civilian population. Between February 1 and July 31, 2023 alone, 4,621 civilian casualties were documented.
This was reported in the report of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission. Of this number, 1028 people were killed and 3593 were injured. Of these victims, 1,883 were men, 1,294 were women, 139 were boys, 94 were girls, and 16 were children whose gender remains unknown. The report notes that Russian aggression has caused an average of six deaths and 20 injuries every day in recent months.
