Early in the morning on January 18, Russia launched ballistic missile strikes on the Lukyanivka district. The entrance to the metro station was damaged, with windows shattered and structural elements partially destroyed. A fire broke out on the third floor of a partially destroyed industrial building.
The first McDonald's in Kyiv, nearby stores, and residential buildings also suffered damage, with windows and doors blown out. Around a dozen cars were damaged, and three were completely burned. The central water pipeline was ruptured, flooding the streets and leaving several districts without water supply.
Three people were killed: two men, aged 25 and 43, and a 41-year-old woman. Two of the victims, a married couple, burned alive in a minibus, while the young man, a security guard at a dining establishment, died just a few meters from the metro entrance.
Casualties: 3 killed, 3 injured.
