Mariupol, Donetsk region
More than 10,000 civilians have died in Mariupol since the beginning of the russian invasion, but the death toll could reach more than 20,000.
According to the mayor of the city, Vadym Boichenko, the corpses of Mariupol residents «covered the streets of the city». He states that the russian invaders brought mobile crematoria to the city to burn the bodies and «attempts to mask the bloody massacre».
He also accused the russians of obstructing the work of humanitarian corridors. Earlier, the mayor claimed 5,000 dead - this was the data as of March 21, but «thousands more lay on the streets, it was simply impossible to collect them».
About 120,000 civilians still remain in Mariupol, in dire need of food, water, heat and communications, the mayor reported.
