On March 9, 2022, the Russian occupation troops illegally took 2,389 children to the territory of Russia, which was in the temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The forced transfer of the civilian population to the territory of the aggressor state, in particular children, is regarded as kidnapping.
