Over the past two years, the International Committee of the Red Cross has received more than 115,000 calls - by phone, online forms, letters or in person - from families in Russia and Ukraine who are looking for their missing relatives.

Efforts are underway to find out the fate of 23,000 people whose families have not heard from them - either because they were captured or killed, or because contact was lost after they left your house.
